Blog portfolio 1, 2 and 3

Welcome to Mili’s blog!

Hello!! My name’s Mildred, I am fifteen years old and what I hope to improve during this course is my vocabulary and my listening skills (I got sixty-five points out of a hundred on my diagnostic listening test).

During this two weeks of school, I got the chance to meet new people and to learn some new things about me. It has been a bit hard because it’s a new school which means new classmates and teachers, but I think I’ve been doing well.

My favorite things to do in my free time are reading romance books, writing and hang out with my friends and my boyfriend, but lately I’ve been learning about robots and programming and it has become my new hobby.

The name of the artist I picked is Taylor Swift because she’s my favorite singer since I started middle school because it makes me feel relaxed. She’s from Pennsylvania, USA, and I love her music because of the beat of her songs and her beautiful lyrics.

The USA culture is pretty similar as ours, so, in my opinion, I don’t think there is actually something new that I’ve learned or something interesting to tell.

I think I would love to learn a bit more of the Chinese culture because we’ve been learning about it on English class and it was pretty interesting and maybe I would start to listening to K-pop!

I think that’s it for today. Thank you!

BLOG PORTFOLIO UNIT 2: BEHAVIOR

Hello! Welcome to my blog again! So, the last friday during our second laboratory session, my team and I did a research about how economic stress affects on family and student’s academic performance. What I’ve learned about it was the way we should act in those kind of situations but also the way we shouldn’t act.

For example, I found this video in YouTube:https://youtu.be/M81okCG3wsk

This video is about what happens when you’re experiencing economic stress, as we can see in the video it affects on student’s development because of the instability they live at home, they start feeling anxious or depressed and they find it difficult to pay attention. When this happens, instead of creating a more heavy atmosphere by arguing with your family because of money (like in the video), you should talk politely, find healthy ways to de-stress (such as walking or doing exercise) and try to divise a solution.

Remember that you’re not alone!

BLOG PORTFOLIO UNIT 3: LESSENING THE IMPACT

Blue — Subordinating conjuctions.

Highlighted — Passive voice phrases.

Hello, everybody! Welcome to my blog for the third time! So, a lot of vocabulary about environment has been learned this week in English 5 class; we have learned about environmental issues and how they affect us as a community. I think it is important to be conscious about all the damage we’re doing to our planet and start thinking about ways to save it. That’s why in today’s blog I present you a list of 10 common things that we can do daily to lessen the effect of contamination and pollution.

First: The use of plastics such as bottles or bags can be reduced by using biodegradable and reusable containers instead.

Second: Start using public transportation or bicycle instead of your car when you go out.

Third: Incandescent bulb lights can be replaced for LED ones, with this, we’re gonna reduce the energy consumption and save energy.

Fourth: The carbon emissions will be decreased if we start buying local products to reduce transportation.

Fifth: Put the trash in its place and recycle if possible.

Sixth: Lights must be turned off when not in use.

Seventh: Do not burn out the trash.

Eighth: Reduce the use of Air Conditioner.

Ninth: Do not throw toxic chemicals to the sink.

Tenth: Start using ecofriendly products.

To sum up, I think it is important to remember that we all are responsible of the environmental pollution and we should adopt sustainable practices to stop it.
